Meet Dr. Yuan
Dr. Helen Yuan was born in Canada and grew up in Spokane, WA. She went to college at University of Southern California (USC), and after graduation, worked in a periodontal testing lab under Dr. Jorgen Slots at USC’s dental school. In 2016, she came up to the bay area and completed a Global Health masters program at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), with a masters thesis on early childhood caries in Nepal. She went back to USC to get her DDS degree, graduated in 2021, and from there, completed a general practice residency at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital and Stanford hospital joint program in 2022.
During dental school, Dr. Yuan spent a majority of her free time working with USC’s Mobile Clinic program, which sparked her love for pediatric dentistry. During her residency, she also had the chance to work with kids at Stanford’s Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. She loves getting to know her patients and is excited to establish her roots in the bay area.
Outside of dentistry, her interests include playing ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, traveling, eating food, and petting other people’s dogs.
